A Memorable Wedding Video
5 Reasons Why You Need An Elopement Videographer!
Why You Need A Wedding Video–An Elopement Videographer’s Perspective
Having an elopement photographer is a given, because what better opportunity to get dressed up and take epic photos in a scenic landscape? It’s more than just staged wedding portraits – it’s the adventure of a lifetime to kick off your life together. So why stop at static – though certainly stunning – photos when you can also have an actual video of your elopement?
An elopement wedding video is a million times better than a regular wedding video. No corny interviews with guests. No montages of other people dancing around or eating the overly priced catering. Just the two of you getting married. Saying how much you love each other. Laughing. Crying. Saying your vows. Part of why you chose to elope was so you could focus 100% of your energy on each other (and maybe the select few friends or family you invited along), so by nature your elopement video will capture that beautifully.
Photography vs. Videography: Which One is Right For You?
As the videographer half of Kim Butler Photography, I’m probably a little biased. I do think there’s nothing quite like the romance of elopement videography, but we wouldn’t be called Kim Butler Photography if the photos weren’t the foundation of elopement keepsakes.
So here’s what I propose: why choose just one? You should have photos and videos of your adventure elopement. You should be able to cover your walls with your favorite snapshots of the day and sit down on your anniversary each year to enjoy reliving the whole experience again and again.
4 Reasons You Need an Elopement Videographer
If you’re still not convinced and leaning toward the admittedly less expensive photography-only option, here are four more reasons you really should have an elopement videographer there to film the whole day.
1. It Captures the Raw Emotions of the Day
Videos show you what really happened throughout your elopement. Your wedding video won’t be staged, making it about as candid as it can get. With an elopement video, you can revisit every emotion you felt throughout your ceremony. Get choked up all over again watching your husband wipe tears during the first look and laugh at the awkward moments in between the perfect poses (because those are some of my favorite moments to capture – the really, goofy you!)
2. It Records Your Ceremony and Vows
If you ever lose the physical keepsake notebook you wrote your vows in, they’ll always be preserved in your wedding video. When times are tough, you can look back on your elopement video and remember the promises you made to one another and rekindle the romance again.
3. Your Family and Friends Will Thank You
This is a big plus for everyone who couldn’t come to your elopement: they’ll still get to experience it! Any family and friends who didn’t actually attend your wedding ceremony (which is probably most of them considering you’re eloping) can watch the video and feel as if they were right there with you.
5. You’ll Regret Not Hiring a Videographer – Guaranteed
Let me be frank here: If you don’t hire a videographer, you will regret it. You will always wish you had a full recording of your ceremony beyond the little cell phone video your mom took. You’ll adore your photos, but wish you could really relive the day all over again.
