Alaska Engagement Session with Angie and Peter: A Day Full of Love, Adventure, and Fun
When you think of an Alaska engagement session, you probably envision stunning mountain views, serene lakes, lush green fields, and perhaps even some adorable pups. That’s exactly what Angie and Peter brought to the table during their unforgettable session at Eklutna Lake near Anchorage. These two radiate such a vibrant, happy energy that spending time with them felt more like hanging out with old friends than working. Let’s dive into their story, explore where to stay in the area, and discover all the fun things to do nearby for your own engagement session or adventure.
Part 1: Angie and Peter’s Engagement Session Adventure
Angie and Peter aren’t your average couple; they’re the kind of people who light up every room (or outdoor space!) they walk into. We first met Angie years ago at Riley and Sean’s elopement, where she was the officiant. Her emotional and hilarious ceremony had everyone laughing and crying in equal measure. It was no surprise that their Alaska engagement session would be just as fun and heartfelt.
Their session took place at Eklutna Lake, nestled in Chugach State Park. Eklutna Lake is a slice of Alaskan paradise, surrounded by dramatic peaks, endless greenery, and waters so clear they look like glass. Depending on the season, the park shifts from vibrant green summers to snow-covered wonderlands in winter, making it an incredible year-round destination for photoshoots and adventures alike.
For Angie and Peter, the day started with their two dogs and a canoe. Yes, you read that right – a canoe! Their playful spirit and the dogs’ endless energy made for some of the most unique and fun shots we’ve ever taken. The four of them paddled around the lake, creating picture-perfect moments with mountain reflections shimmering in the background. The dogs, of course, stole the show, wagging their tails and leaning over the canoe’s edge as if they were born for this.
After their time on the water, we moved to a lush green field near the lakeside. Angie and Peter danced and twirled, with the dogs joining in on the fun. The joy and love they shared were palpable, and the photos practically captured themselves. Along the way, we met a group of campers loading their gear into canoes to explore secluded spots around the lake only accessible by boat. This kind of secluded camping experience is one of the unique draws of Eklutna Lake – imagine having an entire stretch of nature all to yourself.
Next, we went for a short hike through the park. The trails around Eklutna Lake are filled with gorgeous views of slow-flowing creeks, vibrant vegetation, and towering mountains. The stream that flows out of the lake, Eklutna River, added another layer of beauty to the session. We wrapped up the day back at the lakeshore, where Angie and Peter’s laughter echoed across the water. It was a perfect end to one of the best engagement sessions we’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing.
Why More Time Means Better Sessions and Elopements
One of the most important aspects of planning your Alaska engagement session or elopement is ensuring you have enough time. The more time you dedicate, the better the experience and the results will be.
Here’s why:
Here’s why:
Explore More Locations
With additional time, we can include multiple breathtaking locations in your session or elopement day. Imagine starting your photos at Eklutna Lake, then heading to Hatcher Pass for rolling green hills, and finally taking a helicopter to a glacier for epic, once-in-a-lifetime shots. Alaska is full of diverse landscapes, and having more time allows us to showcase the beauty of each one.
The Day Feels Less Rushed
A longer session ensures that the entire experience feels relaxed and enjoyable. Instead of racing against the clock, we can take our time to capture every precious moment. This also gives you more time to connect, laugh, and soak in the magic of the day.
Top Packages Include Multi-Day Shoots
Our top-tier packages include the option to split your session or elopement into two days. This is perfect for couples who want to explore far-off locations like Denali, the Kenai Peninsula, or secluded glacier spots. By breaking up the shoot, we can focus on capturing each location fully without feeling rushed.
Additional Album and Printing Credits
Another perk of investing in a larger package is receiving more album and printing credits. Your engagement session or elopement photos deserve to be showcased, and having a high-quality album or large prints ensures those memories will last a lifetime.
By dedicating ample time to your session or elopement, you’re not just investing in stunning photos; you’re creating an unforgettable experience that tells the full story of your love.
