Seattle is a very unique city. Diverse in culture. Beautiful in architecture. And terrible in traffic.
It’s rare to get a sunny day in the city, even more rare when it’s technically winter! But on this day Brandi and Kris got super lucky. It was one of those days that you feel lucky to be alive. Going to Pike Place Market had always been one of my favorite activities to do in the city. To me it in the pinnacle of culture and a Seattle staple. If you come to the city you have to come see the fish throwing or get made in front of your very eyes donuts or even pick up some of the fresh picked flowers. While you visit don’t forget to check out Rachel the famous brass pig!
For your engagement photos in Seattle, one of the most iconic things you can do is get your photo taken in front of the “Public Market” sign. Sure it can be a little cheesy, but I think we could all use a little more cheese in our lives. Brandi and Kris are from Vegas and so it was a priority of hers to get a shot with the sign since they didn’t know when they would be coming back to the area and it was on her “must have” list of shots to get. After we left the crazy busy market we headed up the street to a tiny little spot I had found earlier that was surprisingly quiet for being on such a busy street. But I loved the combination of the greenery along with the rustic wood wall.
We did have to a tiny bit of trespassing in order to get that short concrete hallway. But with the beautiful reflections that I was able to get took it from simple hallway to spectacular light show of rainbows! A little trick that us photographers use in order to get something a little more creative. 😉 But it worked and I love the end result of it and so did she. As well as the beautiful rustic wall we found. To have a little fun I had them bump hips until they laughed. It was adorable as they awkwardly laughed as people walked by trying not to push each other over.
After the market we headed on down to the Olympic Sculpture Park to finish off the session. It one of my favorite places in the city to go for sessions. The fountain, the sculptures, the Space Needle in the background. It’s just perfect! Even the teeny tiny garden there severed as a quiet spot for them were the sun was beautifully shining on them. It was a great way to end the sessions. They were happy and playful and we all had a lot of laughs. I really should come back to the city more often for engagement session. *wink wink* But until then, please enjoy the photos from my session with the beautiful blue eyes Brandi and handsome Kris.
